Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Coach's Corner.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap that eliminates the draw by giving one team a fractional advantage.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for gambling.
- Bonus
- Extra funds added to your account, often with conditions attached.
- BTTS
- A bet on whether both teams will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- The option to settle your bet before the match ends, locking in a profit or loss.
- Cashback
- A percentage of your losses returned to you, usually as bonus funds.
- Double Chance
- A bet on two of the three possible outcomes to increase your chances of winning.
- Free Bet
- A bet where you stake your own money but keep the winnings, not the stake.
- Futures
- Bets on outcomes that will be decided in the future, such as who wins the tournament.
- Handicap
- A disadvantage given to one team to even out the chances of winning.
- KYC
- Know Your Customer; a process to verify your identity to prevent fraud.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is in progress, with odds that change during the game.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, without any point spread.
- Odds
- The price of a bet, showing how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Odds Boost
- Enhanced odds offered on a specific event to increase potential winnings.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals will be over or under a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that combines two or more selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Props
- Bets on specific events within a match, such as which player scores first.
- Responsible Gambling
- Practices and tools to help you gamble safely and within your means.
- Risk-Free Bet
- A bet that is refunded to you if it loses, up to a certain amount.
- Rollover
- The number of times you must bet your bonus funds before withdrawal.
- Spread
- A point spread that one team must cover for the bet to win.
- Unit
- A standard amount of money used to measure the size of a bet, usually a percentage of your bankroll.
- Wagering Requirement
- The amount you must bet before you can withdraw bonus funds.
